Rito de los Frijoles Land Grant ~ Bernalillo County

Around 1740, Andres Montoya received a land grant in an area seven leagues north of Cochiti and called Rito de los Frijoles.  In May 1884, heirs of the land were in Private Land Claims Court filing papers that via inheritance they owned the lands.  The family was that of Antonia Rosa Lujan, now deceased, but a granddaughter of Andres Montoya.  In an earlier document dated 1814, Antonia Rosa Lujan states that her father Juan Antonio Lujan (Barbara Rosa Montoya) was the son-in-law of Andres Montoya.

In the testimony we find the children of Juan Antonio Lujan and Barbara Rosa Montoya, which helps to recreate the genealogy for this family.  We also find that we have two Tomas Salas men, both grandchildren of said couple, but in the testimony separating them can be confusing.  Instead of writing up all the particulars in the land grant, I am just going to show the entire family genealogy.
