Land sale with Jose Rincon to Bartolome Marquez - Santa Fe 1755

In the villa of Santa Fe, the capital of this kingdom of New Mexico on the 20^th of November 1755, before me, don Francisco Guerrero, Alcalde Mayor and Captain of War of the said villa, appeared Jose Rincon, a resident of said villa, whom I attest to know. And he said that he was giving and gave in royal sale to Bartholome Marques, his brother-in-law, to wit:  a portion of land which is in front of the said Bartholome’s house on the other side of the river of this villa on the heights of Analco; which said piece of land he obtained by way of inheritance from his parents.

The said portion of land contains 44 Castilian varas from east to west and said land is bounded on the east by the house of Maria de Apodaca; on the west by a lot and a demolished room of Valentina de Ulibarri; on the north by the embankment and edge of the river itself; on the south by lands of said purchaser.  He sold it for the price of 50 pesos in the currency of the land.

In this said villa on the same day, month and year, before me appeared doña Francisca Rael de Aguilar, residents of this villa, whom I attest I know and she said that she was giving and gave to the said Bartholo Marques in royal sale to wit:  the said portion of land and the lot with the tumble-down room mentioned in this instrument as a boundary of that which the said Bartholo has purchased from Jose Rincon, his brother-in-law.  And in order that he may incorporate it all in his own.

The said portion of land measured from the tumble-down room contained from east to west from the boundary of said purchaser as far as the house of Christobal Martin, (the bald headed), as they call him, 45 Castilian varas, from north to south 15 varas; the boundaries are: on the east, the boundary of the purchaser; on the west the house of Cristobal Martin; north the embankment of the river; on the south the lads of the purchaser.  She sold it for the price of 10 pesos.

Gabriel Gutierrez ~ Maria Dolores Sisneros, Bernalillo

I've been trying to find my Gutierrez line that dead ends in Bernalillo.  After the Nerio Antonio Montoya that I did in the October 2012 HGRC Journal, I've had quite a few queries on some others that are also looking for their families in the area.  Jacinto Gutierrez and Andrea Baca, are the parents of Gabriel Gutierrez, all reside in Bernalillo.  As a Gutierrez first received the land grant there, it makes sense that they all come from one guy, tying them to him is another matter altogether.   Here's one of many Gutierrez people in the area of Bernalillo. 

Descendants of Gabriel Gutierrez & Maria Dolores Sisneros

 

1.  Gabriel Gutierrez, son of Jacinto Gutierrez and Maria Andrea Baca, was born circa 1783.

•  He appeared on the census in 1818 in Sandia Mission, New Mexico.¹ Gabriel Gutierres, 40; Maria Sisneros, 34; Francisco, 12; Pablo, 10; Francisco Ramon, 4; Anna Maria, 14; Antonia, 8; Dolores, 6.  [These ages don't match the baptisms very well]

Gabriel married Maria Dolores Sisneros, daughter of Antonio Jose Sisneros and Maria Concepcion Salazar, they marry around 1804. Maria was born circa 1784 in New Mexico.

Children from this marriage were:

            M     i.      Francisco Esteban Gutierrez was born circa Dec 1805 in Sandia Mission, New Mexico.² 

Francisco married Maria Ysabel Zamora, daughter of Juan Zamora and Maria Candelaria Lucero, on Oct 31, 1841 in Sandia Mission, New Mexico.³ 

            F      ii.      Ana Maria Gutierrez was born on Apr 30, 1810 in Sandia Mission, New Mexico.⁴ 

            F     iii.      Maria Dolores Gutierrez was born circa 1812 in Bernalillo, New Mexico.

Maria married Mariano Sanchez, son of Pedro Juan Bautista Sanchez and Manuela Antonia Sanchez, on Dec 4, 1824 in Sandia Mission, New Mexico.⁵ 

            M    iv.      Pablo de Jesus Gutierrez was born circa Feb 1812 in Sandia Mission, New Mexico.⁶ 

            F      v.      Antonia Teresa Gutierrez was born circa Jun 1814 in Bernalillo, New Mexico.⁷ 

Antonia married Prudencio Rincon, son of Jose Rincon and Maria Francisca Alvidres, on Feb 9, 1834 in Bernalillo, New Mexico.⁸ Prudencio was born circa 1806 in Socorro del Paso, New Mexico.

            M    vi.      Francisco Ramon Gutierrez was born circa Apr 1816 in Bernalillo, New Mexico.⁹ 

Francisco married Maria Remejia Montoya, daughter of Geromino Montoya and Guadalupe Perea, on Jan 30, 1853 in Sandia Mission, New Mexico.¹⁰ 

            F    vii.      Maria Magdalena Gutierrez was born circa Jun 1818 in Bernalillo, New Mexico.¹¹ 

Maria married Francisco Antonio Mares, son of Mariano Mares and Maria Vicenta Garcia, on Mar 18, 1841 in Sandia Mission, New Mexico.¹²
