Soldier, Anacleto Miera ~ enlistment 1767

Anacleto Miera, son of don Bernardo Miera and doña Estefana Dominguez native of the villa of Chihuahua, now of Santa Fe.  Height 5'1" tall, 26 years old, CAPR (Roman Catholic), chestnut hair and eyebrows, fair skin, handsome face.  He fills the position in this presidio of Santa Fe on 1 April 1767, in place of Joseph Ygnacio Alari. He was read the penalties called for in the ordinance…having been advised that this is the explanation (justification) and no excuse whatsoever will be accepted from him; signed. Margin: He was promoted to Corporal on 1 January 1779.  On 1 April 1780 he was recognized as ‘Distinguished’ by the Señor Governor.  He was promoted to 3^rd Sergeant on 1 August 1782.  He was given license to discharge on 1 May 1792.

Heirs of Francisco (el ciego) Martin

Francisco Martin (el ciego).  One of his granddaughters, Maria Rosalia Fresquez is contesting the distribution of the lands as an heir through her mother.  The document starts off dated 29 April 1786, Josefa Martin and Maria Rosalia Fresques, the first daughter and heir of Francisco Martin. Other names written in this document when they are re-dividing the lands are:

Salbador Martin, already deceased

Eusevio Martin

Juana Martin, deceased and received by her daughter Maria Rosalia Fresquez.

Juan Francisco, deceased

Jose Martin who purchased some of the lands

Pedro, deceased.

Julian who also purchased some lands.

Manuel, Jose, Salbador, Barbara, and Maria, direct heirs.

Soldier, Tomas Padilla ~ enlistment 1766

Tomas Padilla, son of Juan Padilla and Margarita Martin native of Soledad of this government; occupation cowboy, height 5'3" tall, 31 years old, CAPR (Roman Catholic), black hair and eyebrows, full faced heavy beard, rose-coloured skin, stocky.  He fills the position in this presidio of Santa Fe on 15 April 1766, in place of Ysidro Martinez. He was read the penalties called for in the ordinance…having been advised that this is the explanation (justification) and no excuse whatsoever will be accepted from him; signed.
